Block Party One Way or The Other...
Good Ol' Oak Park government...won't allow east-west streets to have block parties this year. sheesh. At least one of our friends invited us to theirs. Brody hemmed and hawed and finally got up the nerve to go in the jumpy with the big kids...and loved it. Gosh, he's growing up!

We Went Bananas!

We went to Morgan's 6th birthday party at Go Bananas! two weekends ago. It's like a ChuckECheese's. There was an indoor mini roller coaster that Brody wanted to go on. I took some pictures to give you a sense for this thing. He didn't get freaked out, but he didn't want to go on it again either. heh.
He's also now obssessed with the claw thingy that theoretically grabs stuffed animals. He's on a mission to get the frog from there. I tried a billion times, and came up empty. Those things are EVIL!

Brave Brody
Today, horror of horrors, Brody fell off the last two steps of a ladder at the playground. He's become an expert, but today it was sprinkling, so the steps must have been a little slippery. Luckily, he fell well, so nothing was sprained or even scraped.
There were tears to be sure. But, I asked him if he wanted to get up and try again. Which he did. Just like the pro that he is. My brave boy.

...Like a Fox
Our wiley son, aka the love of our lives, will do ANYTHING to get out of falling asleep each night. Usually it's the request for the extra hug...kiss...water...milk...story...snuggle...you name it. Today, as has been usual for the last few weeks, I gave him a bath and Jim read him his stories.
About 10 minutes after Jim came downstairs after finishing storytime, we started hearing, "waah waah wahhhhh....wwaaah waaah waaahh..." Clearly a ploy for attention - and not real cries. Jim went up there to encourage him to be quiet and came down with this explanation for the crying:
"A booger jumped out of my nose and it scared me...it was ouchy."
heh.
